DSK Legal act for Zurich Airport International AG in its bid for Jewar Airport

Switzerland’s Zurich Airport International AG emerged as the highest bidder for the proposed international airport at Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, on the outskirts of Delhi.

DSK Legal advised Zurich Airport International AG with respect to its bid to develop the Greenfield Noida International Airport at Jewar on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis. The bid was floated by Noida International Airport Limited.

The Jewar Airport or the Noida International Greenfield Airport will be spread over 5,000 hectares when fully built at an estimated to cost of Rs. 29,560 crore according to the project’s nodal officer.

After winning the bid, Zurich Airport AG said in its press release that it will participate in the expected growth of the Indian aviation market and will implement its best practices developed in Switzerland while maintaining the local Indian values.

DSK Legal assisted in inter alia (i) review of the bid documents including the RfQ cum RfP and the concession agreement; (ii) review and submission of the technical and financial bid; (iii) liaising with the concessioning authority; (iv) advising on the transaction structure and the structuring of the special purpose vehicle to be formed; and (v) highlighting the risks in the transaction.
