Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Mavco Investments, belonging to select members of the Murugappa family, on its acquisition of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy’s wind turbine generator business in India and Sri Lanka. The acquisition is part of a consortium led by TPG, with Siemens Gamesa and Prashant Jain also holding minority stakes.
The transaction was led by Vandana Sekhri (Partner), assisted by Kushal Ramotre (Director – Corporate Transactions), Lokit Khurana (Associate), and Kabeer Jay (Associate). On competition law aspects, the team was led by Vijay Pratap Singh Chauhan (Partner), with assistance from Rajat Sharma (Senior Associate).
The definitive agreements for the transaction were signed on March 26, 2025.
