The International law firm Bird & Bird has strengthened its Commercial practice in Warsaw with the appointment of Krzysztof Zięba and Michał Kulesza as partners, enhancing the firm’s capabilities across commercial, consumer, IT and technology-driven regulatory matters in Poland.
Krzysztof Zięba, a contracts and consumer law specialist, advises clients across sectors including retail, FMCG, food, chemicals, cosmetics, electronics, media and automotive. His practice focuses on commercial, consumer, trade, e-commerce and distribution law, with particular strength in supply chain operations. He regularly drafts and negotiates complex commercial agreements such as retail, franchise, selective distribution, logistics, licensing and marketing agreements.
In addition to advisory work, Zięba represents clients in litigation and regulatory proceedings, particularly in matters involving advertising compliance, contractual performance, product labelling, price presentation, greenwashing and trade secret protection. He frequently appears before the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, notably in consumer law and payment-related disputes.
Michał Kulesza is an experienced IT and commercial law expert, advising leading clients across the technology and regulated financial sectors. His practice spans regulatory and contractual issues at the intersection of law, technology and risk, including DORA, Polish Financial Supervision Authority (UKNF) guidelines, cybersecurity, digitalisation, cloud computing, outsourcing and FinTech.
Kulesza has advised on major IT undertakings in Poland, including data centre projects and large-scale cloud implementations for banks, insurers, investment funds and healthcare entities, as well as clients in energy, critical infrastructure and telecommunications. His practice increasingly focuses on AI, cyber resilience and operational continuity. He will also take on the role of Head of the Tech & Comms team in Poland.
