Dentons’ Corporate Partner Nik Colbridge Relocates to Dubai to Strengthen Equity Capital Markets Practice in the Middle East

Global law firm Dentons has announced that corporate partner Nik Colbridge will relocate from its London office to Dubai as part of its strategy to expand its Equity Capital Markets (ECM) practice in the Middle East. Effective mid-June 2025, Nik’s move underlines the firm’s commitment to strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly growing legal markets. The relocation reflects Dentons’ focus on aligning legal expertise with evolving client needs across emerging regions.

Nik, who joined Dentons in 2015, has played a pivotal role in the firm’s London operations for the past decade. He specialises in advising corporate issuers and financial institutions on international equity transactions, securities offerings, and joint ventures, particularly across emerging markets.

Paul Jarvis, CEO of Dentons UK, Ireland, and Middle East, based in Abu Dhabi, said,

"Nik's move contributes to our strategic focus on the Middle East as a fast-growing legal market with increasing requirements for capital markets expertise."

"Dentons has an incredibly strong brand in the Middle East, having had a presence in the region for more than 50 years and an established network of offices that allows us to provide local support to clients backed by international capability and reach."

Nik Colbridge commented,

"I am hugely excited and optimistic about this opportunity to create a centre of Dentons expertise for ECM in the Middle East. There is a long tail of privatisation work in the region, and a flourishing segment of emerging companies looking at capital markets as a possible route to growth. Our global ECM practice continues to expand in line with demand and this move brings us closer to the clients in the Middle East region and adjacent regions, including Africa and Central Asia."

Dentons operates across seven offices in the Middle East—Amman, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Muscat, and Riyadh—offering a comprehensive regional presence backed by global resources.

Nik’s relocation follows the appointment of Ahmed Butt in January 2025 as a Banking and Finance partner in Dubai, along with the partnership promotions of Faris Shehabi and Hazel Shakur Quinn in May 2025.

In addition to lawyers qualified in local jurisdictions, Dentons also supports a thriving secondment programme, enabling legal professionals from across its global network to contribute to and gain experience in the Middle East legal landscape.
