The premier Ibero-American law firm, Pérez-Llorca has announced its plans to open an office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2026, to be located in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). The new office will be led by Gonçalo Capela Godinho, currently Country Chair of the firm’s Lisbon office. He will be joined initially by two Pérez-Llorca associates relocating to Abu Dhabi as part of the launch team.
The Abu Dhabi office is conceived as a strategic platform for relationship-building, deal origination, and transaction execution, aiming to support Gulf investors in overseas investment projects. It will work closely with Pérez-Llorca teams in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Colombia, as well as with the Lusophone Africa practice coordinated from Lisbon.
Following Capela Godinho’s move to Abu Dhabi, the Lisbon office will be led by Carlos Vaz de Almeida as Managing Partner, while Inês Arruda and Adolfo Mesquita Nunes will serve as Country Co-chairs.
Commenting on the opening, Gonçalo Capela Godinho said,

The Abu Dhabi office will be the first Ibero-American law firm with a physical presence in the city, reflecting Pérez-Llorca’s international expansion strategy and commitment to serving Gulf-based institutional and private investors.
